John David Blair was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to the State of Georgia in 2005. He graduated magna cum laude with his Bachelor of Arts in political science and a minor in history from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. He studied law and obtained his Juris Doctor Degree from Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia. John joined the firm as an Associate Attorney in November of 2009 after having served first as a prosecutor for the Houston Judicial Circuit and then having worked in private practice for a number of years in South Atlanta. He was elevated to Partner status effective January 1, 2016 and works primarily out of the firm’s Columbus and Savannah offices.
John is licensed to practice law in both Georgia and Alabama. He is admitted to all state and federal courts in Georgia, all state courts in Alabama, and also the US District Court for the Middle District of Alabama. His primary focus is in the areas of insurance defense, workers’ compensation defense (including claims arising under the federal Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act), litigation defense (including Jones Act maritime cases, premises liability cases, and motor vehicle cases), insurance coverage disputes, employment law, EEO defense, corporate and business law. John is a member of the Muscogee County/Chattahoochee Valley Bar Association, the Dougherty County Circuit Bar Association, and the Federalist Society.
John lives in Columbus, Georgia with his wife Stephanie and their daughter Savannah Belle. They are members at Christ Community Church. When not working, John and his family can be found kayaking on the Chattahoochee River, hiking at Pine Mountain, or walking his dogs around Uptown Columbus with his wife and friends. John and his family are very engaged in the local Columbus community, but they also have a deep connection to Savannah, Georgia, where they visit regularly.
